Conscious Returns
If I jump at shadows
It’s because they’ve jumped at me
In situational surroundings
Where you’d not desire to be
If I see what there is to
Be seen adeep within of you
It’s because I subject have
Been similar deeps unto
If I smile at you anyway
Think not it is from innocence
‘Tis conscious this forgiveness is
I find it only be good sense
Between any two people
In most all situations
Once heartfelt restitution
Rebalances relations
As I extend it to you
I hope, I hope the while ~
For all of my own failings,
You will return my smile
