event horizon
this wasn’t dust
not like we’d known it
filled the air
ground to sky
nanodust
photonic
light
particles
penetrating
walls and ceilings
everywhere
sparkling
in all the colors
of the rainbow
we breathed it
took it in
now
the skies are violet
filled
with hundreds of ships
and we are all well again
no pain pain pain pain
tv’s transmit:
hello
we are your galactic neighbors
so glad at last to be able to meet you!
floors appear insubstantial
composed, after all,
as we know notice,
of swirling particles,
but we are learning
to walk again
upon them,
and everyone we meet is
unexpectedly
fascinating and
beautiful!
unthinkable
ever
to wage war
again
between us
what would be the point?
would it make someone smile?
undone
by delirious
joy and relief we are
weeping
embracing
dancing
celebrating
celebrating
celebrating
in the streets…
